SENATOR LIMÓN’S STATEMENT IN RESPONSE TO PROPOSED BUDGET

(SACRAMENTO) Senator Limón released the following statement in response to the proposal of the 2023-24 California State Budget:

“This morning’s Budget proposal came at a time when the Central Coast is reeling from the impacts of a historic storm – I am grateful the Governor’s Office is working in partnership with first responders and local governments to ensure their safety.

The 2023-24 Proposed California Budget builds on the diligent work our Legislature and Governor have put in over the last decade to ensure our state has the ability to continue the momentum. I am pleased to see that the Governor is interested in working through issues impacting the nonprofit sector, continuing to address higher education enrollment and degree attainment, and climate resilience.

With billions in state reserves we have the opportunity to safeguard the progressive investments we have made. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Legislature as well as the Governor to deliver a budget that will deliver on our priorities.”
