Statement by Senator Limón on the 2022 –2023 California Budget, May Revise

(SACRAMENTO) – Senator Monique Limón (D-Santa Barbara) released the following statement in response to the 2022- 2023 California Proposed Budget:

The Governor's revised budget proposal is a representation of the values we all hold dear in both California and SD-19. I am pleased to see increased investments in childcare, education, healthcare affordability, reproductive health, and support for small businesses. The proposal also continues a critical conversation of supporting Californians by providing an $11.5 billion of tax refunds and subsidies to help the middle-class pay for healthcare coverage.

As a leader on addressing climate change and creating a sustainable greener future, I applaud the additional investment towards addressing climate change and its impact on our communities including critical funding to prepare our communities for the next wildfire season.

I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Legislature to approve a balanced budget that supports ALL Californians.
