Jackson Issues Statement on Arson Attack on Planned Parenthood in Thousand Oaks

October 01, 2015

SACRAMENTO – Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson (D-Santa Barbara), chair of the California Legislative Women’s Caucus, issued the following statement today on an arson attack on a Planned Parenthood facility in Thousand Oaks:

“I deplore last night’s apparent arson attack on one of our local Planned Parenthood health clinics in Thousand Oaks. This will disrupt important and critical healthcare services to many residents in our community. Along with the harassment directed at Planned Parenthood nationwide, this is yet another attempt to undermine the reproductive rights and healthcare of all women and families. This shows that even in California, which has long been a leader on these issues, we must continue to protect women’s access to the healthcare they need.”

Jackson represents the 19th Senate District, which includes all of Santa Barbara County and western Ventura County.
