July 31, 2015

CAMARILLO – Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson (D-Santa Barbara) will host a free seminar on Thursday, August 6 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. to provide information to seniors on how to protect themselves from becoming victims of fraud. The City of Camarillo and the California Contractors State License Board are co-hosting the seminar.

“Seniors are all too frequently the target of scams that can rob them of precious life savings,” said Jackson. “With a seminar like this, I am hoping we can empower them with education and information and help our often unsuspecting seniors protect themselves.”

Along with Jackson, speakers will include Jane Kreidler, California Contractors State License Board; Renee Meriaux, Camarillo Building and Safety Department; Stacia Crane, United States Postal Inspection Service; Sheri Boles, California Public Utilities Commission; and Deputy Mario Molina, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. Attendees can get answers to their questions and obtain assistance if they have been scammed.

The seminar will be held at the Camarillo City Council Chambers, 601 Carmen Drive, Camarillo, CA 93010.
