Morning Train Service Starts April 2
At long last, early-morning train service is coming to our community! Starting April 2, residents can ride the train to work from Downtown Los Angeles to Goleta, with key stops along the way in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.
The new morning service will help ease traffic congestion and provide more options for your daily commute. In addition, free shuttles from the Santa Barbara and Goleta train stations to major employer hubs will be available for train ticket holders. Visit http://www.trafficsolutions.org/Train for detailed information as well as free passes for the month of April.
This train has long been a priority of mine and something I have fought for years to bring to our region. When I served as a member of the budget subcommittee dealing with transit and rail in particular, I argued for additional investments in our intercity, commuter and light-rail networks across the state. Understanding the significant economic and environmental benefits a train could bring, I've worked to help bring all parties together to make this train a reality.
I want to hear from you. Do you plan to ride the new service?
